A Little Bit About My Skin
Before I tell you how my skin reacted to using this product, I think you should know more about my skin. I consider my skin type to be oily. As for my skin issues, I am currently dealing with dull/dehydrated skin, acne, large pores, and dark marks.
I took a break from using any skincare products for a year and, in doing so, resulted in my skin appearing dull and flaky. I also struggle with hormonal acne, and from that acne, I receive dark marks. So, now I have skin discoloration on my cheeks and chin area. Also, the pores near my nose are noticeably large.
How I Used This Serum
I used this serum twice a day after using my chemical exfoliator and before my moisturizer. I found that using this product more frequently was more beneficial for my skin. As for the amount I used, it sometimes varied.Â
I can honestly say in the beginning, I did use too much of this product. I would apply the total amount of product the dropper picked up. Later on, I realized that my skin did not need that much product, so I stuck with using half the dropper.Â
As I was about to finish the serum, I began to only use it once a day to prolong its use. I believe I finished this serum in 3 months, although it could have lasted five if I did not apply so much at first.Â
How This Serum Changed My Skin
This product is labeled as a discoloration correcting serum, so I was hoping it did just that. This serum contains 4% niacinamide and 2% tranexamic acid, which should help with uneven skin.
Unfortunately, it did not help fade my dark marks away. I do think they are slightly less dark, but they are still noticeable. I only used this product for three months, so I could have seen more progress after 5 months, but I think other active ingredients would be a better choice to address my skin concerns.Â
On a positive note, I think this serum did help my skin appear more radiant and smooth. Like I said before, I was dealing with flaky, dull skin. So, after using this serum, that issue went away. Also, maybe it did help minimize my pores too.
To give you more insight into the changes in my skin, you should also know that I did use this serum with Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant. I can say that these two products paired well with each other. Since I did not suffer from any irritation, I can consider that a bonus.

My Overall Review
It is a decent product, but I think my skin needs a different type of serum. I will probably not repurchase this product again unless I begin to deal with flaky, dull skin again. As for my skin discoloration, I think a serum that has AHAs in it will be best, or maybe vitamin C.Â
This product may not have helped with my dark marks, but it could help with yours. I recommend this product if your skin has been looking kind of dull.
