Key Ingredients

Olive Oil

If your skin type is dry or you are dealing with dry areas on your skin, then olive oil is perfect for you. What makes this oil great is that it is an emollient oil (keeps your skin soft and smooth), and it has antioxidant properties.

Tocopherol

An antioxidant that gives you photoprotection against UVB rays, and it has emollient properties.

Glycerin

As you may know, this is a natural moisturizer our skin produces. It keeps the skin lipids healthy and helps restore the skin barrier. This ingredient is also beneficial to those that deal with severely dry skin.

Purslane (Portulaca Oleracea)

This plant is a succulent that is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. It contains so many beneficial vitamins, minerals, and other helpful ingredients that it is a great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agent.

A Little Bit About My Skin

Before I tell you how my skin reacted to using this product, I think you should know more about my skin. I consider my skin type to be oily. As for my skin issues, I am currently dealing with dull/dehydrated skin, acne, large pores, and dark marks.

I took a break from using any skincare products for a year and, in doing so, resulted in my skin appearing dull and flaky. I also struggle with hormonal acne, and from that acne, I receive dark marks. So, now I have skin discoloration on my cheeks and chin area. Also, the pores near my nose are noticeably large.

How I Used This Cleanser

In the beginning, I only used this cleansing oil once a day during my nighttime routine. It was the first step in the skincare routine, and I applied it to my dry skin. From there, I would message it all over my face for about a minute.

Afterward, I would wash it off with warm water and then follow with Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Seed Hydrating Cleanser. I later changed my routine around after realizing the Matcha Hemp Seed Cleanser was irritating my skin.

From there, I began to only use the oil cleanser day and night until it was summertime in my location. That was when I decided to only use the oil cleanser at night. Later I will explain why in the following section.

I had the issue of always taking too much product when getting the product out of the container. Since the container has a pump, it is easy to push it all the way down, which results in you receiving more product than you need.

Note: Push down on the pump halfway, and that should be all the product you will need

What Happened To My Skin After I Used This Face Wash

I decided to use an oil cleanser after researching it to see if it would be beneficial for me. From the information I gained, I found that it is perfect for dehydrated skin. After using this face wash for three months, I noticed that the flakiness and the dryness I was dealing with around my T-zone area began to improve.

I had no more flakes in those areas, and my skin appeared more radiant and moisturized. When I had any acne, it was not as bad as before. I would only get one or two bumps on my face each month.

Now, I am not saying that this cleanser alone did all this for my skin because I did use other skincare products while using this cleansing oil. I used Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant and Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum. With these other products and the cleanser, I believe that is what helped my skin.

Although my skin was improving, I began to deal with irritation from another product. As I said earlier after, finding out that it was the Matcha Hemp Seed Cleanser, I began to use this oil cleanser as my only face wash. By doing so, a week later, the irritation stopped, so I can say that this is a great cleansing oil.

Improvements

To avoid my mistake of squeezing out too much product, I think the pump should be shorter. This isn’t a necessary change, but it will ensure that you get the right amount almost every time.

What I Like About This Cleanser

  1. The amount for the 400 mL is enough to last six months to a year, depending on how often you use it and how much you use with each application.
  2. This is one of those products that a little goes a long way, especially since it is mostly oil.
  3. Most of the ingredients are not likely to cause irritation.

Yesstyle $10.40 (50 ml)

Dokodemo $12.02 (200 ml)

My Overall Review

I loved this cleanser, and I believe it is definitely worth the price I paid, considering it is 100% plant-based, fragrance-free, coloration-free, mineral oil-free, paraben-free, and alcohol-free. I love how long this product lasts, which makes the price more reasonable.

Also, this cleansing oil was very gentle on my skin. As I was applying this product, I didn’t feel any itchiness or irritation. It was just the perfect cleanser for my skin.

Would I purchase it again?

I would definitely purchase this cleanser again. I think I will stick to adding an oil cleanser to my routine since my skin seems to be more on the drier side now.
